Russ i had an 8ba done 3 yrs ago and the new cam gear was mismarked. Dot was off by 2 teeth. Also had a new oil pump {both parts were Mellings}..... junk. Lower oil pressure than before rebuild....

I had a stock 226 in a 50 2 door sedan with o/d trans. Rebuilt .o3o bore, minor shave on the head.
It beat a v8 or two.
They are good engines.

I'd be cautious. I paid a "pro" appraiser to examine a car for me. He missed major things that cost me $$$$$. I would not have paid what i did if i had seen & DRIVEN the car myself.

Neat pics & story. I should have taken a picture of a early 40s Lincoln a friend showed me in the mid 60s.
It was in a woods in Marblehead Ohio with a tree between the front bumper & L F fender.

Admiral, Charlie NY did a 1 1/16 throttle bore 94 style carb for my 8BA with max 1 in it.
You could feel the difference, over the stcok 1" diameter 94. Just say'n. Charlie is easy to talk with........

I'm not sure the hoses are a problem..overheating, etc. ....but, if at all possible, you need to see & drive it for yourself. I paid a "professional appraiser" to check a car out for me.

Patina is king.....if it were me, i'd redo the interior as stock as possible, keep original paint, add dual...
