Re: Who is going to the Orange County Model A Ford Club pancake breakfast, this Sunda

Quite a thunderstorm in the So. Cal. this afternoon (Wednesday). Lots of rain, thunder, lightning and hail, and more rain forecast for Thursday. Hope all the water drains out of Santiago Creek by...

Re: Color of the engine

Not necessarily. Big Pine is in the mountains and pretty lonely up there. Could be cabin fever.

Re: Coolant Debris Looks Like RTV

Budman,

Thanks for the explanation. I had the same question and didn't realize it had two filters. I know there is an optional metal tube but the clear plastic makes it easier to see when the...

Re: Walter won't start !

Bart,

Or turn the fuel valve on, I've done that when I assumed it was on. Better yet, step on the starter and not on the foot rest like I did! Finally figured out that the foot rest wasn't moving....

Re: Almost Spring Swap Meet 2019 March 16 & 17

Sounds like a great Swap Meet. I've been wanting to go for a couple of years but it's a long trip from Southern California. Maybe next year.

I'll have to settle for the Selma, CA Swap Meet in the...

Re: Flywheel housing

I wonder what the shade tree mechanics did in the 1930's during the depression when they didn't have access to or couldn't afford a tool like the magnetic dial indicator?

Re: Barrett-Jackson

I agree with everything you said, but especially about Chris Jacobs. He's an idiot and not a car guy at all.

On the early episodes of Overhaulin' he used to do those stupid pranks where they...

Re: Billetproof Florida 2019

Smooth One,

I like the Roadster with the Miller OHV head. The Stanchions, Oval Speedometer and solid Spreader Bar make it look like a '29 or early '30. Did you find out what year it was?

I...

Re: truck lift

The higher you pile the lumber, the more unstable the pile becomes. I would be concerned that the piles of lumber would shift unless there was some way of supporting or bracing them to prevent that....

Re: Speedo gear

John,

Leave it alone, youíll never get a speeding ticket. Besides, it wonít cost you anything.

Re: Speedo gear

What John Buckley said. I rely more on my GPS than the speedometer. I don't think any of the instruments on the Model A are very accurate anyway and I don't rely on them. I don't drive much over 50...

Re: Best roadster floor sheet metal

Chris,

I bought some floor parts for my 1930 Roadster from Brookville at the National Roadster Show in Pomona last month. I bought the front riser and some parts for a rumble seat.

They gave...

The spare tire "carrier" is the one in the photo in post #9 where the spare tire is mounted. The spare tire "bracket" goes behind the sheet metal to support the spare tire "carrier".

It's an...

Re: Reproduction rear spare tire bracket

Oldblueoval,

I have found that here in So. Cal. the spare tire carriers are plentiful at Swap meets and on Craig's List but the spare tire brackets are harder to find. I have been looking for a...
