Re: What size power valve should I use?

What you read is true. And....
"if your divided number falls on an even number, you should select he next lowest power valve number"

By "the book" you'd use a 9 for a power valve, which isn't...

Re: Speedometer Lubrication

Re: It is getting harder to find basic parts at the auto parts stores anymore

I work for an automotive bearing manufacturer and deal with this daily.
Chain stores are stocked by VIO (Vehicles In Operation) in the given zip
code of that store. This is how HQ arrives at the...

Re: Holly 94 carbs

Have not done this job on a 94. I did it on a rare Autolite 4100 and it fell into the category of "I ain't doing this again" because I ended up making the bushings, etc.
Maybe there are...

Re: E3 plugs

I can't recall where I saw the test but the E3 plug was the only electrode design
that showed ANY improvements in horsepower and mileage. May have been Hot Rod or Car Craft or some such deal. The...

Re: Speedometer weirdness

The speedo cable makes a fairly wide loop (which looks about typical to me)
and goes into the speedo. It's not a tight bend.
I've too much cable length to run a 90-degree adapter..... I'd have to...

Re: Speedometer weirdness

That's a good thought. I'd use another 90-degree adapter on the speedo end but I've got too much cable length under the dash due to the loop....

Speedometer weirdness

This is on the '48 F-1.
Lubed up the cable, which pretty much steadied the wagging speedo needle.

Here's the deal though, with the truck sitting, parked, immobile, etc. the needle used to sit...

Re: Old transmission..... New transmission

Just pulled, cleaned, re-lubed and re-installed the speedo cable.
So nice to no longer have the speedometer needle "wagging"
5 mph at every spot on the dial....

Well next is the engine. That's...

Re: 52 f1

With your foot off the clutch pedal, the clutch release bearing should be away from the "fingers" of the pressure plate...... so that shouldn't be the clicking.

my company vehicle was parked about 3 feet away in front of me at the time
I was moving the lever into reverse.....

Re: Conversation with a WWII Veteran

I'm not even fit to tie the shoes of those guys that served during WWII.
Met a really old gentlemen at the bank one day sporting a ballcap...
