Re: rubber boots

Haha, I put the Model A shift knob on the bathroom door. The missus doesn't care much for it tho.

Actually I got that knob from my Grandma ~55 years ago. I have a purple one also. I don't know...

Re: rubber boots

I agree with Eagle. I have never had one crack or any other issue. I have the S/S retainers so mine are screwed to the floor. But as mentioned, mine is a driver. I don't think they were original,...

Re: assist seat rope 4dr

I'm sure mine is Repro. Seats are LeBarron-Bonney.

Looks like I could stand to shorten mine a little. It must have stretched over time. I usually have a "Lap Robe" hanging over it and took it off...

Re: assist seat rope 4dr

I think that is called a Robe Cord. Used to hang a robe or a blanket folded over it. I wouldn't use it as an assist to get in, may ripe it off. It is only held on be two wood screws at both ends.

I think this is what you are trying to do? I threaded a piece of S/S tube and the throttle rod to make my throttle rod adjustable on my Model A....

Re: 1930 Radiator Stine Guard

The Ford emblem on the radiator shell is in a different location on the '30 as opposed to the '31. Hence the hole on the stone guard will not line up with the emblem on the shell and looks like shit,...

Re: Changing coolant for the winter

Bob, I think that would depend a lot on where you live. Here in SoCal a majority of our 'tap' water is from the Colorado River and is really "Hard", filled with calcium and other minerals. Most of...

Re: Exhaust pipe clamp

Wow, you learn something new all the time on Ford Barn. I use a mount similar to this for the trunk on the back of my Town Sedan to help support it and I never knew what this "thing" was called....

I emailed Tim 3 days ago. He always returned my emails in the past the same day. I can only assume the worst but I hope not.

Re: California pcv ??

Why would it need a valve. You are just routing the breather cap to the air cleaner instead of venting to atmosphere. You would only need a valve if it was routed to the intake manifold, which the...

Re: California pcv ??

I had a '55 way back in '66 and yes you were required to have the "Smog Device' connected, in Southern California at least. The Smog Device installers "closed off" (bent) the road draft tube as part...

Re: Turn Signal Flasher 12V

I'm sure you're correct but after three electronic flasher in the last year I went back to a thermal flasher with amber incandescent bulbs in front and LEDs in back. No problems... yet.

Re: Turn Signal Flasher 12V

That is the exact FL-3 flasher that just burned out after ~5 months, for the second time... one of the reasons I went with a back to a thermal flasher.

I am glad the FL-3 worked out for you. It...

Re: Combination crows foot/combination wrench

In my 1980 Snap-on catalog the S8663B is referred to as a "Cylinder Head Wrench/Torque Adaptor".

I think they are multiplying in my tool box. I have three now??

Re: Combination crows foot/combination wrench

Funny, we have never referred to a "crows foot" wrench with a box end as a crows foot. It has always been called an "offset box" (wrench).

Only the open end ones were referred to as a "Crows...
