The green bible says my engine should accommodate 5 gallons of coolant, yet I was only able to fill it with just shy...

Thanks for the reply flatford8, I'm inquiring because on some other forums I read about this specific brand (cool carb) melting. It wasn't on a flathead though.

Ah, thank you for that explanation! Believe it or not I was treating the kickdown switch as the on/off switch for over drive, I had no idea it would engage automatically above ~27mph. Thanks again.

it makes the noise immediately when pressing the clutch, and does not stop until the clutch engages again.

I suppose a better description would be a ticking noise, with each revolution of the engine you can hear a tick. It's not jerky when releasing. Thanks for the reply!

When I depress the clutch pedal on my '51 Ford Victoria, I hear a pitter-patter directly related to the the RPM of the engine. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
