Re: Need photos of proper routing of vacuun wiper lines

On my '30 Coupe, it goes from the wiper motor into the channel above the windshield and down the front post behind the cowl of the passenger side door and meets with a metal tubing which is connected...

Re: Problem starting

Thank you all for your postings. I’m gonna try it again today using some of your suggestions (suppose to be another hot day). I too feel it’s a fuel delivery problem on hot days, as I don’t have this...

Re: Problem starting

I have put fresh fuel in since the winter. Most recently about a month ago. It probably still had some old winter gas in it, but very little. I have driven it quite a bit since spring with no...

Re: Problem starting

I know this probably has to be a fuel related problem because of the ease of it starting back up with no problems. You mentioned a “heat soak” as a possibility. Is that the same as vapor lock? I had...

Re: Problem starting

Just fired it up (3:50pm) started right up, ran great! Put her back in the cool garage. I have no clue why it does that. It’s happened to me all summer!

Re: Problem starting

I’ll usually let it sit a couple hours and It’ll fire back up. It happened today around 1:00pm. It’s still sitting in my yard in the heat and sun (3:45pm). I tried it around 2:30 and it done the...

Re: Problem starting

Thanks Hammer for your response. I have done the exact same steps you mentioned, however it cranks, will fire, and then quits as if it’s not getting fuel

Re: brake return spring ??

I used one also. Returned the pedal great, but I found that actually fixing the problem worked great as well. Replaced bushings in brake and clutch pedals, new brake rods and anti-rattlers....

Re: Gas seepage at steering column

I was a firefighter for nearly 40 yrs. One of the worst injuries I ever saw was someone working on a (removed) gas tank from a '67 Corvette. It's not the liquid that ignites but the fumes. I'm like...

Re: Gas seepage at steering column

I don't really have any suggestion other than removing the tank and have it repaired or replaced. I'm very scary when it comes to gasoline leaks. Too much could go wrong. Maybe someone on here with a...

Re: Shocks for a Model A 1930 pickup

I recently put tube shocks on my 30 Coupe. It only had the original two up front, but they leaked fluid and never worked. I purchased my tube shock kit from Snyders and was completely amazed and...

Re: Water pump questions

This is what my water pump looks like. Any suggestions as to what kind it is? It looks nothing like others I have seen. Seems to work fine though. I have been told it's an industrial pump or one from...

Door Check Bumpers

Could someone please furnish me with a diagram or picture of the correct installation of door check bumpers and pads for a '30 closed cab coupe please? Doesn't show anything in the Les Andrews book.

Re: Runs for about 10 minutes and the just quits

I made the mistake of putting 93 octane fuel in my ‘30 coupe. She was running fine before on 87. Drained tank, put paper filter in bowl, filled up with 87 octane, and she runs like brand new

Clutch question

My clutch pedal goes down towards the floor approximately 1-2 inches before I shift. Is this correct? It shudders a little when I first pull out, but changes gears very smoothly. Only shudders at...

Re: Zenith Carb Rebuild

I haven’t flow tested the jets yet. Just wasn’t sure the secondary well was supposed to be screwed all the way until it stops or not. It screws down way past where the threads start. I was afraid if...

Zenith Carb Rebuild

I am rebuilding a Zenith 1 carb. How far do you screw in the secondary well. Until it bottoms out, or even where the treads start?

Re: Opening Cowl Lights

Sorry, can't help much. My cowl lights both have a small screw at the bottom to remove the lens. Have had both off a few times. I wouldn't pry them off as there is a little tab that fits in a slot on...

Re: Thought this was neat

My wife took a picture of a small model I have of an "A". Taken in the driveway in a tire track. Just thought it looked pretty neat. She was bored due to all the snow.
