Supposedly this car was originally "restored" in 1952 and appears it may have been spruced up again in the 70s. Maybe they could have gotten ahold of a NOS...

1939 Oil Filter Mounting?
I just picked up this oil filter setup. The mount is labeled for a 39 but doesn't seem like it mounts like the one in Kube's photo. Does anyone have any mounting instructions for these?

is there a hole that would mate against the bottom of the carburetor base when mounted?
some have that and it will not hold water because of it I'd imagine.
