Re: 1940 Ford Family Owned Coupe

Man, what a great story! You are very lucky to have this car--a car that a lot of us would cherish.

I would just go slow, realize this is a long term project, it's going to be a few years before...

Re: Broken crankshaft. Worth saving the rest?

'51 Ford 6cyl ring gear needed

I'm helping a friend in need of a ring gear for his old gal, an original '51 Ford 6cylinder engine. It's the 226H engine, Part 8HA6384A. He is in Florida.
Any help? Thanks.

Sticking valve.

I have, what I believe, is a stuck valve in my 8BA flattie. Last fall, when moving the car from one garage bay to another, it ran really rough when it started, needing a LOT of throttle and sounded...

Re: my first shoebox

Shoeboxes' are my favorite cars. Every family had one (3 years)--they are entrenched in Ford history. They are one of the most often customized Fords, also...and they clean up nice too.
You might...

Re: 49 woodie front seat adjuster spring

Just a little coil spring, say 3 or 4 times the power of the ones in a ball point pen. It goes between the two holes you see on the left to pull the latch back so it will engage...slim
