Ok folks, solution found! The bar appears to have been modified somewhere in its past. One of our club members kindly brought me a standard headlight bar, and lo and behold, the cups are tilted...

The bolts are not seized, there is freedom of movement on both buckets

No, the buckets are definitely '28/'29 - they are the pointed at the back, not rounded like '30/'31

The bar is perfectly straight

I will check on the distance between the fenders and compare...

Headlamp bucket question

I am struggling with fitting headlamp buckets to the headlamp crossbar on my 1928 RPU. The problem is that the "cups" on the crossbar that hold the headlamps are not tilted as they are on a 1930/31...

Hi Ryan, this generator casing has no holes other than the ones for the cutout switch and the mounting bracket underneath. Any suggestions for me please?

Rotorwrench, the link to Ford Garage is confusing, because they show a 30/31 on top, and a 32 below. The picture is not really that clear either

Thanks Pluck,
What I was referring to is that the suppliers of new parts seem to ONLY supply the ends with the bolt and grease fitting on the same side, which is a nuisance

That doesn't really explain how the grease fitting got to be on the same side as the bolt, or am I missing something?
