V8 COOPMAN , yes I have a shifter that looks like a shifter for the standard transmission but every thing from the pivot ball down is shorter. Jim. T.

Are you sure the engine is not locked so you can not shift out of 3rd gear ? Did you try rocking the car to see if it will free up ? JMHO

Please correct me if I am wrong. Is there a small concave groove on the cups that should be facing the opening so the ball can slide in ? Maybe the repro parts don't have that feature. Please see...

I lived close to Islip Speedway on Long Island NY in the 50s. We could hear the cars from our house and there were many stock cars in the back yards and garages around town.

That might work with just the main leaf but watch out for the pipe couplings. That is the weak link. Yes more angle on the angle irons. I see the reverse eyes were not rolled to tight and your angle...

If the engine starts properly and the starter isn't spun repeatedly the starter doesn't care what voltage it gets. JMHO.

Front shocks ?

How tight should a front shock be ? I have one that I could hardly move and one that has about one inch free play either way. Should the shock absorbers have play at all ? :rolleyes:

It is the same bearing as a early chevy like 59 water pump. The shaft is part of the bearing and may have to be cut to your length.
