Thermostats

I am going to order some thermostats from Joe's.

I have a 37 Ford 85hp. I drive about 400-500 miles a year.

Should I get 160 degree or 180 degree thermostats?

Re: Leakage from radiator cap 1937 85hp

I see that Joe's offers 160 degree and 180 degree thermostats.

What is recommended for my light driving?

Should I get 160 or 180 degree thermostats?

Thank you.

Re: $$$$$

So, tell us, what was the quoted price for the rebuild?

No excuse is good enough to replace a flathead with an SBC.

Leakage from radiator cap 1937 85hp

I took a short ride on Saturday in my 1937 Ford with 85hp.

When I returned, I noticed that some coolant had leaked out of the radiator cap. The cap is really old and appears to be original.

Re: 1939 Business Coupe Shock absorbers

No such thing as a 1939 Ford "Business Coupe."

There is only a De Luxe and a Standard for 1939.

Re: Is it a bad time to sell?

You asked for opinions: "Any advice will be appreciated."

Looks like it is a buyer's market for Model A cars.

Re: Driving in NYC 1945

Packard was building engines for the P-51 and for PT boats and Studebaker was making B-17 engines.

Re: Mercury Production serial numbers by the month

Don't forget that production year and calendar year are two different things. Mercury production for 1940 likely commenced in late 1939 -- Oct or Nov -- and likely ceased in Sept or October of 1940.

Re: Blue Dot Tail Lights

Never was a fan of blue dots. Kind of put them in the fuzzy dice category. Some people just have to have them. Just don't see what the big deal is. My red tail lights get the message across.

Not Correct.

The drivers are NOT seasonal. Only the helpers are.

My wife, my brother and my brother in law work for UPS.
