Re: 1956 T Bird Paint Question

Maybe for a '55 full-size car, but the T-bird is a somewhat different animal. Inner fender side and front aprons (at least on the engine bay side) are painted body color; the underside/wheel house...

Re: Color of steering column and wheel on 55 Ford

Fairlane (top-of-the-line of the 3 series) was color-keyed to the lower color of the dash. Well, at least the white lower color of the dash in my Victoria carried through to the column and steering...

1965-66 Mercury 352-390 ID Tag Codes/VIN Codes

Let's have some fun understanding Mercury engines. I'm attempting to develop a comprehensive list of FE-series (352-390-410-428 and 427/427 SOHC) engines by the Engine ID code used on engine tags, in...

Re: Engine Tag Codes - '65-'67 Mercury 410

Merci' Kultulz. I'm assuming the "M" is for manual transmission and that the letter/VIN code for both the US-only 2v/manual and the Canadian-only 4v are both "M" like the others.

Will have a...

Engine Tag Codes - '65-'67 Mercury 410

I'm trying to find the 3-number engine identification code that's stamped on metal engine ID tags for the M-code 410 cu.in.-4v Mercury FE-series engine (not to be confused with the MEL-series 410...

Re: Assembly Manual

If you have the reproduction of the Body/Trim/Sealant Manual, then you're probably aware that reproductions of the Electrical Assembly Manual were made - both were reprinted by Jim Osborne...

Re: original paint y blocks

I have to find the file I've been compiling on engine colors, but if memory serves me correctly the green/turquoise/aqua color may have been used on '55 and maybe '56 Merc engines (I don't remember...

Re: 1969 MPC Section 60 Engine ID Pages

I want to think oldmics or dmfssr (?) posted the '57 Merc ID code numbers in late Feburary-early March of 2019 from a Mercury service bulletin, with descriptions of what each code referred to re....

Re: 1969 MPC Section 60 Engine ID Pages

I'm seeking pre-'64 ID codes. The "Blue Bibles" from '49-'59 and '60-'64 are for the most part lacking in the Engine Tag ID number department - the exception being '60-'64, which picks up the label...

Re: 1969 MPC Section 60 Engine ID Pages

BINGO! Loose-leaf format with the big-azz expanding binder.

And, yes, still trying to find codes for engine assemblies pre-'64 that were used on the cardboard/fiberboard ID tags.

Part of what...

Re: stainless sleeves in wheel cylinders

Must be remembered that the style of cylinder used in Early V-8 cars '39-'48 are a stepped cylinder, with one end a smaller bore than the other. Ergo, two sleeves in cylinder being fed from one port...

Re: 1965 Thunderbird engine colors (etc.)

Looks like correct-style air cleaner/snorkel for a '65 'Bird/Galaxie. To be more-precise, the color used on air cleaners and valve covers of '65 Z-code 390-300 hp engines is Gold Bronze, which was...
