Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

Fred these other guys can advise you on the frame issues better than me, and there are many posts about it here. Likewise, many members have relayed issues with repro '29 shells.

Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

Fred if I were you I would disconnect the stay rods, slightly loosen the radiator to frame bolts, and remove the top radiator hose (which is preventing you from shifting things around much) and just...

Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

a prior member had asked: is the radiator itself original?

PS: me personally, I never had much success in correcting alignment issues through those radiator stay rods....my problems were...

Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

-and I had the exact same problem until I changed radiator shells. If the shell is slightly malformed it results in one side of the hood resting on it differently than the other side. And the...

Re: 29 Tudor hood alignment

I had puzzling fitment issues until I changed radiator shells----the '29 design is kinda goofy anyway and if yours is out of square, I doubt you can get a normal hood fit despite all kinds of...

Re: Roadster door alignment

there is no adjustment on the door hinges to correct a problem like this but I have often wondered if we could enlarge the holes ever so slightly. it would not take much to make a correction.

Re: Tire changers, do you use the DIY units?

I'm glad to see this topic....just out of curiosity, isn't the historical background that the original tires were natural rubber and not as stiff when changing?

Re: Splash aprons need replacement

not to quibble but I see gobs of complaints here about repro parts not fitting well, sometimes not at all.....

out of curiosity, how is the original apron slot where the running board drops in...

Re: Splash aprons need replacement

I know you have studied the originals in detail....but at least one more recent reproduction has the offset flange at the rear...without that flange, it was almost impossible to get a good fit with...

easier way to polish nickel headlamps/shell

has anyone got a quicker way than using hand cloths? I see in the Griot catalog various polishing outfits and while I realize he is high-priced, still, it seems he has tools that are hard to find...

Re: Anti Rattler Pics

from what you guys are saying, the new repro flat type must be improved quality----ones years ago were junk with no spring to them, just a flat piece of metal.

Re: Running engine with a Simmons Swan Manifold

I think one is pictured in the "Unauthorized Accessories" book. I once had a non-Ford 1926 auto with a Lycoming 6-cylnder engine that used a Swan manifold but I would have to think your manifold is...

I saw this weeks ago but withheld it till the Holiday passed.

Possibly few of us know that the White House had a serious fire on Christmas Eve, 1929. I don't know if any of the cars pictures...

Re: Radiator Apron Fit

this is kind of a difficult question to answer as there is really no adjustment at this location. I think members have pointed out that the repro anti-rattle felt pads on the apron are like twice...
