Re: Do You Guys Constantly Re-touch Wheel Spokes?

What's so hard to cutting a socket in half? I went to our local fleamarket and bought a craftsman socket for fifty cents. Put in in the vise and cut it with my hacksaw.

Re: Heater

Synchro909,
Remember the heater blows hot air into the driver's crotch only in the southern hemisphere. We, up north, still drive on the "right" side of the road. LOL.

Re: Do You Guys Constantly Re-touch Wheel Spokes?

I cut off a socket so that it holds the lug nut but is not so deep that it touches the rim. This fits on a 6" extension with a foam sleeve on it. Works for me.

Re: Heater

Dennisfly,
First of all, welcome to Ford Barn. Snyder's Antique Auto Parts has what you need in their catalog. It's on page A-188. The manifold heater costs $74.95 for the complete kit. Sounds...

Re: Using Ford Barn as an distraction

We lost a 22 year old son three days after Christmas in 2000. There is no word for this loss. When you lose parents you become an orphan, when you lose a spouse you become a widow or widower, but...

Re: Door Glass

People who drive "Cybertrucks", like people who live in glass houses, should not throw stones. LOL

Re: 1930 Pitman Arm

I rebuilt the steering box on my 2 tooth last winter, but I still had more play than I thought reasonable. On further checking I found that I didn't have the pitman arm tight enough. Make sure it's...

Re: Town Sedan interior colors?

Thanks, Don,
That's just what I wanted to know.

Sorry Gary, I don't happen to have judging standards, but I know if I ask politely on this site someone will give me the answer I need.

Ford...

Town Sedan interior colors?

Do any of you know what colors the interior of the 1930 Town Sedan came in?
I need to make some new kick panels.

Re: Brakes quiz!! ID the mistery system.

They been on my car for the 26 years I've owned it and have no idea how long they were on the car before I bought it. The car was restored about 50 years ago. Whitney's or Warshawsky's sounds about...

Re: Oil pump rebuild

Sure, the inner baffle, with the dipper tray, can be taken out. Just throw it down on the grass, up side down, and it should pop out. You should be able to find this in the archives as it's been...

A friend had this happen when he had a bad gasket between the exhaust manifold and the carb. Easy fix.

Re: Model year dates?

I echo Royce P's question. Now a days the new cars are introduced in the fall for the coming year. (Remember when the new Chevy's were unveiled on Sunday night after Bonanza?) When were the new...

Pat/Ohio,

Welcome to the forum. I also have a '30 Briggs town sedan. Had it for a long time. My avatar shows my car and it's Chicle Drab and Copra Drab. I'm in Lorain County along the lake. ...

Re: Black Thursday

The man who owned and restored my car, about 50 years ago, told me the car was built on Tuesday, October 29, 1929. That day was called Black Tuesday.
Happy 90th birthday to you, Margaret, next...

Re: Steering wheel orientation.

Don't mean to steal a thread, but I have a question. My '30 town sedan has a keyed steering wheel and there are two key slots in the wheel. It seems that the wheel can be installed in two different...

Re: Gland ring recesses

Mad Mac,
Gland rings - yes or no. Years ago, when I bought my car and was a real novice, I changed the manifolds. I bought a used set, didn't know about planning, and I lost two rings before I...

Re: Towed car lost lots of fluids

Rivcokid,
My '30 town sedan doesn't leak much, but if I park it on my sloped driveway the rear main will leak a little. The first time this happened I nearly went into panic mode.
