Re: 56 fender apron retainer

16050 is there, it's black starred (not serviced) in the illustration at the time that pub was printed so won't be in the text section. It looks more like a retainer PANEL, not just a clip.

Re: Bellhousing for a 368 Y Block Part #

Only # I could find was for a standard trans with OD, said to fit 57-59 368 & 383 cid.

Part # PB9M-6392-B.

I don't have a truck parts book for those years, cannot confirm if it's same as this...

Re: 1961 Fords - Where have they all gone?

Remember in the early & mid 60s when Ford used to have its annual White Sale. I recollect seeing many huge billboards advertising the event in late summer during those years.

Re: Braces

Those under-hood braces (base part # 16036 & 16037) are shown in the parts book and states they were used only on body style 57A (Fordor hardtops).

Re: General Info

Don, don't you mean FL300? The FL400 is a smaller filter, if memory serves I think the 400s are used on Escorts etc. Not sure if the sealing surface is same as the the FL300.

Re: General Info

The FL300 oil filter should work - just be sure to check the gasket to flange for proper seating. the 300 is a short filter, the FL1A is the most common one used, it's longer. Also check the FL299,...

Re: Ryan Newman Ford

Some of the guys on the NASCAR facebook page said it was oil, not gas that was running onto the ground in that wreck. Had it been gas the car would likely have been a firebomb.

Re: Junior Johnson Passes On

I met him several times mostly at tracks as a fan, last time was probably at Bristol or Martinsville. But most memorable was in the early 90s when Bill Elliott was driving for him. I stopped by his...

Re: 1916 T Publication

Thanks for the info. As said, he has no interest in selling it but wanted a sort-of value for it probably in order to either share it to his grandkids, or to protect it from further deterioration.

1916 T Publication

I'm not at all knowledgeable about Model T's. But I have an octogenarian friend who has an old book about T's, he said his dad bought it many years ago because he had a mid-teens T. He's not...

Smile Re: 55 crown Victoria hel0 needed

Terminal "parts disease"

It's in the old Ford parts book that I have. Exterior moldings section for '55s.

Not to worry though, as an old parts guy from many years ago, I've had...

The part # for the left/driver side is B5A-6420189-A. It's called door outside rear upper corner molding.

Fits '55-'56 Crowns, Body style 64A and 64B (glass top & steel top).

Maybe try...

Re: Muffler Selection

I had dual Porters put on my '56 about 10 years ago. Love the sound. Nice rumble at idle but they will bark a bit when accelerating. Inside the car it's just enough to hear 'em, not annoying at...

Re: original paint y blocks

The heads are ECK-B, according to the yblock tech page they are 55 TBird 292 cid. The heads used on the rebuild are ECZ-B or -C.

Re: original paint y blocks

I still have the heads that came off the engine, ECZ's were used on the rebuild. I'll have to look at those old ones & see what the #s are on them.

Re: original paint y blocks

Sal that engine above has the carb & intake you got from me a few years ago, not sure if the manifold was painted too. I got the block near Akron Ohio but don't know its origin.

Closest color we could find to what was on the block when I got it. Can't remember what it is called.

Re: original paint y blocks

This is the Yblock I got, from a '55 Mercury, 292 cid. Block & heads are more gold-ish than yellow/green, valve covers cream/ivory with red letters. Supposedly had 17K miles, stored for years when I...
