You might also clean the point contacts themselves. Sometimes they corrode if it's been sitting for a while.

I need to clean mine every spring.

Use a tungsten point file or sandpaper.

I do have one and the lens is clear, one side of the lens has a flat spot..for alignment I guess.

There are only three threads on the collar so if you were able to turn it that many times you would be free of the threaded portion.

Perhaps the screen is bent or distorted so that it is unwilling...

I was able to get my old spark arrester out through the filler opening.It had been rolling around in the tank for who knows how long

It was interfering with the gas gauge, it held the float up...

The vent holes are in the lip of the cap. I can see the vents in your picture, look closely and you will see them also..

You said you removed all the bolts........be sure to remove the one that comes from underneath through the oil pan lip.

I used a deadblow hammer to gently loosen the cover...

I think he may mean the pads between the original rear motor mounts and the frame.

We wrapped the glass areas with Stretch Wrap that is used for shipping..U-haul sells it around here.

We also had a neighbor who was good enough to lend us the mud flaps that slip over the hitch.

Here is a pic of my pickup....it isn't pretty but it looks like someone long ago just cut the lacing so the hinge would sit down into the depression...at least I don't see a wire and I'm pretty sure...

The hook of the latch just slips over the hood latch clip.

I think if the hood were up just a little it would be difficult to latch.

The first picture is when I was putting it back together...you don't need it very high, I used a couple fairly tall jack stands. The bed is off because I also replaced the rear cross member..
