another benefit of using ARP nuts is you can mix and match the different styles of ARP nuts to get the rod weights the same with out removing metal from the cap

And yes they are thick, most on this one around.247 thick.
I also have looked at sleaving the one with the .070 wall and that looks like a doable job for me.

I do a similar mod but use two NU 1010 roller bearings, machining required, one good thing is the old axle tube bearing area only has to go down to 50mm .

I have straight valves in the engine in our 33 ,I used the lifters as above and stock cam and springs, that engine has about 70,000 kms on it and is still nice.

Count the number of teeth on the ring gear through the filler hole, look in the green bible and you will see what ratio from that.

There are available made in Australia, some nice alloy 21 stud heads , I have used 3 sets and they look great and work great also.
