Re: 1936 Ford aluminum heads

Lawson,

No disrespect, but I currently have a 36 LB engine, std bore, with flat top pistons. Maybe Don Rogers might have researched this? I imagine when Ford changed the block from Babbitt to LB...

Re: Iron vs. aluminum head compression

The aluminum heads have a higher compression ratio than the cast iron heads. This is true for both the 48 series and 68 series heads usually found on the 36 model engines. Both heads list CR of...

Re: 1936 Cabriolet Top and or Rear Glass

Aro2000 makes them. www.aro2000.com, or Bill Hirsch sells the material if you can find a local shop to make one.

Re: 1936 Cabriolet Top and or Rear Glass

Lawson,
I was looking for the drawing for the frame, not the glass. If I can get the drawing I can reproduce a frame or at least verify an original if I run across one. 👍

Re: 36 Ford brake pedal return spring

Re: 36 Ford brake pedal return spring

Dean,
That spring that you picture is the one that connects to the brake rod cross shaft. The V end hooks through a hole in the back of the frame tunnel and the hook connects between the two brake...

Re: 1936 Cabriolet Gas Tank Sending Unit Location

Yes, sender grounds through tank to chassis. I like to run a separate ground wire from one of the sending unit mounting screws to the body or frame to make sure of a good ground.
