Re: Alternator or not?

You might want to consider an E.J.Whitney alternator. https://www.ejwhitneyco.com/automotive.html
I installed his 6V positive ground unit in the tonner. He uses the front and back of your core...

Re: Dealing with the heirs on '32 parts ect.

I agree 100% and have made up a list of all the goodies that I’ve acquired over the years and have assigned each a fair market value that another hobbyist could live with. If nothing else that...

Re: 50 Mercury OD problem

C&G Ford Parts has a O/D Cable that you can cut to fit. https://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordpart.php?number=A9AZ-7A650-A
When I put the 49 Merc O/D transmission in the tonner I used this cable.

Re: Horn for a 39 1 ton truck.

The Greenbook shows different part numbers for the horn on my 40 Tonner and the horn on your 39 Tonner. It does show the same part number 51A-13823 for the Commercial (1/2 ton) and Truck (3/4 ton...

Re: Horn for a 39 1 ton truck.

Attached are photos of the horn, horn mounting bracket and their location on the frame of my 40 Tonner. I'll check the Greenbook tomorrow and see if the same setup might have been used in 39.

Re: Hershey on the West Coast

IMO the only West Coast event that comes close to Hershey in terms of number of vendors and quality of parts is the Portland swap meet. The 1940 Tonner followed me home from that meet.

Attached are three photos which show the OEM cab wood mounts in the 40 Tonner. I'm led to believe that all the conventional truck cabs from 40-47 were the same so unless you have a COE these...
