Re: Jerry Grayson Jonesborough, GA passes away

I'm saddened to hear your news Lawson. RIP Jerry.
We tried hard to get the EFV8C to continue on with the 35/36 Pickup you both worked on, shame our efforts fell on deaf ears.

Re: Deluxe vs Standard 38 Fenders

If you want a Deluxe front clip on a Standard you need a new Firewall as well, the Deluxe front guards are a different shape where they bolt on.

Re: Post war replacement blocks for 81a

Yes it is the replacement block but it doesn't have the 59A letters on it. I heard that some US made replacement blocks were designated 41A. But this one would have come from Canada as a Commonwealth...

Re: Post war replacement blocks for 81a

Will these blocks go out for 239? If so it has real potential. There is no rust on this block. As I understand it this was a truck application, hence the factory relieving. I was thinking the only...

Re: Post war replacement blocks for 81a

It would be so easy if this block did have sleeves but it doesn't. Someone may put there hand up for it.

It's been awhile since I last logged on...

I have a post war replacement block for an 81a motor that has a 3/16th bore and is also factory relieved. My question is, how far can these be...

Re: Carb Riser Questions

x2

BITD young guys would go the 'bolt-on' route to get a little more power.
Higher comp. heads, exhaust headers with dual exhaust and an inlet manifold with two or three carbs. And it worked. How...

Re: New Book From H&H on Rebuilding Flathead Engines

I saw H&H announce the book on Facebook. Mike Herman says to ignore the shipping cost (which is high) Mike processes each sale himself and reduces the shipping to $6.50.

Re: 38 horn gremlins

I had the same thing happen on a 38, when I took the horn centre piece out the steering wheel nut was loose. As soon as it was tightened the problem was solved.
