Just one more thought. If you still have the stock passenger side head installed on the engine, measure the height from the surface of the block to the top of the tab that the distributor rests on....

Re: 41 cowl vent gasket who sells the best.

I bought the BOB DRAKE cowl vent gasket many years ago (1988) and its still working fine. Rounded corners edge faces down.
Use the correct sealer to hold it in place, not silicone glue.

Look at the top leaf of each spring. There should be a part # stamped in the top spring.
My 40 springs are numbered.

Pech33: V8 has offered "Golden" advice. You will need to install a torque arm unless you switch to parallel spring set up. Read all this:

This 1954 truck has disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear.
It was a huge improvement. You could instantly feel the improved stopping ability..

If you already have the torque tube removed replace the clam shell 0-ring with this.
