heads, what are these?

Semi- porous blocks found inside the waternecks of a NOS set of iron 59ab heads installed on a new rebuild... What might they be?

I am going nuts searching for threads covering the issues of installing a 49-53 engine in '35... It would save my sanity if someone could identify any threads on this issue, or just give me a rundown...

I would like to use them on the rear of my '35 coupe. Not being Ford specific part numbers am I looking at ride/damping problems using them or should they be ok....

This will bolt up to the stock opening at the rear of my '35 frame. The lever arm fits and lines up with dog bones.

No repro available that I know of. Good original ones are as hard to find as 35/36 trunk lids. Most that show up on classified sites are listed as 35-36. they are not the same, 35 has a small tail...
