Re: 29 Tudor interior questions

Fred is your emergency brake hooked up? It looks out of whack, comes back too far. Never saw one like that before.

Re: Sedan delivery auction

I saw that big Buyer's Penalty ( they call it a 'Premium' that doesn't have quite as bad of a sound to it) also.

I stopped participating in those types of sales also. People say 'Just bid 23%...

Re: Sedan delivery auction

That must be a common occurence:eek: Many auctioneers do that.

Stood in the rain and snow and in and out of a barn one day for SIX HOURS trying to buy a really nice May West gas pump, a Fry 117,...

Re: The wife and I drive our 30 coupe in to town

Art that was fun to watch! Thanks!

I also appreciated the way your wife closed the door, she knows what she's doing. I gringe when I hear and see someone slam the livin' bejeebers out of any car...

Re: reproduction 1931 two door sedan fenders

That's the route I'd go, seek out a street rodder that doesn't want the sheetmetal. Most seem to be after just the bodies and have no use for the running gear and other sheetmetal parts.

Re: Ricks pack

Dan that is what I remember. We bought our first Model A in the summer of '71, and Rick's was a pretty popular place for parts right or wrong.

I bought a set of headlamp sockets like Purdy did and...

His price creeped up to $99.95 by '79 at least in the Chicago area check out his ad. That included 20 dollars worth of 'free' metal work:eek:

Re: Driver Licneses In a Model A -- After Oct., 1st

Illinois held out for a long time on it, until the Fed ordered them to do this, now we have to have the yellow star by October 2020 if you want the Real ID. You need it to enter a military post or to...

Re: Bonny and Clyde

That's right shame on me, that happened right after they started running trains there direct from Germany with no border guards!! Went right thru India they did.

Re: Bonny and Clyde

Good points Joe and all true.

But I have to admit, I enjoy watching both the 1967 Faye Dunaway-Warren Beatty 'Bonnie and Clyde' film and the 'Highwayman' Netflix movie. If nothing else for the car...

Re: Interesting Read in Hemmings

Looking to buy another vehicle, I checked on several of those 'low mileage' cars a few years back, all that I looked at had been one-owners, but the problem was, they wanted near-new prices.

For...

People need to know History. As Sgt. Joe Friday on Dragnet would have said.....'Just the facts, ma'am.'

Re: Tom Wesenberg and my generators

I know that Tom has had a LOT going on lately. A good friend was just on the phone with him about a month ago, wanting to send a starter up to Minnesota for a re-build. Tom was polite and told him...

Re: Sea-Foam

Beater I've also been told over the years by the older guys that a quart of fuel oil or diesel fuel in a ten gallon tank of go juice is good for a Model A too, if you don't have MMO, for upper...

Re: Looks like a good deal on a Fordor in VA

I'd say his price isn't out of line for all of that. Solid looking car. I bet it sells soon. Nice. He definitely has it priced to sell not trying to waste people's time. Or his:)

Re: Auto Restorer magazine is belly up

I too still prefer a magazine I can hold in my hand vs. a digital version. But, one drawback, I will admit, is the room they take up. I've given most of my magazines away.

I also get Hemmings...

Re: Why would you waste your money on that Model A

One other nice thing about owning a Model A Ford is, they don't take up much room in the garage.

They are about the size of two John Deere 500 series garden tractors parked end to end, each with...

Re: Ford Licensing Article in Model "A" News

I agree with Tom, that the article was a bit mis-leading. A big international company like Ford has more than enough on it's hands than to 'worry' if we are getting quality parts for 90 year old...

Re: 1931 USA made brake light switch issues.

Before I'd do that, ordering another part, I'd take the one you have apart and check it out. Not a big job.

This is the first I ever heard of A&L's switches not working something is weird about...

Re: Fuel Tank Purchase

I was at a Model A swap meet two years ago near Chicago. Someone had a very very nice '30 early '31 gas tank for a hundred bucks.

I looked it over, didn't really need it, then walked on down the...
