Re: Reproducing manifold heater "sock"
Hey Ken - If it's what I think it is, the fiberglass may have the same heat properties, but it does not work the same. I've tried to recreate the asbestos sock with it but the stuff unravels in no...

Reproducing manifold heater "sock"
Hello - I've posted a couple messages in the past concerning replacements for the asbestos sock with spring inside that was used on the old manifold heaters. Here's what I ended up doing -- not high...

Voltage regulator conversion for generator cutout
Hello - I have an oval-style generator cutout that I had converted to a hidden voltage regulator. Unfortunately I fried it and can't find the name of the person who did the conversion for me. Do...

Re: Reproduction cloth heater hose?
Thanks for the ideas. Got my system working just fine, but the material I used to fabricate a hose has torn (too rigid) and I need to get something more suitable. PS -- system generates lots of...

Reproduction cloth heater hose?
Hello -- Does anyone reproduce the cloth heater hose used on the old style heat exchange systems (see pic below)? I know they don't make the asbestos hoses anymore, but wondering if there are...

Re: V-12
The stock intake as noted was for a single Stromberg carb with slightly bigger jets than the Ford. Frankly, Lincoln did that more for fuel efficiency than anything else. These cars really can...

Dame with a Tommy Gun
My wife Andrea at the Louisville Concours this past Sunday. I know Bonnie and Clyde preferred Ford V8s, but maybe if they'd stuck around a few years, they would have tried the V12?

Re: Vinegar
Just a side thought: If I filled my radiator with vinegar and it leaks onto my lawn, along with the slight amount of oil coming through the cotter pin hole on the back of my oil pan, would that...

Re: COST of a COLUMBIA REAR for 36 Ford
I love my Columbia, drops my RPMs by about 30%. In this video, you can hear the difference at 50 mph when I engage the Columbia at around 25 secs in. Definitely worth it IMHO:

Re: Ford Proving Grounds... 1928
Sometimes in those old pictures someone would trace the outlines to make the pics less blury. Especially true for old newspaper photos.

Re: Oil Pressure question on new 8BA
Heck No! I say, drive it like you're the one who's going to have to fix it if something goes wrong! ;)
PS -- My oil pressure readings sound pretty similar to that: 50 at start up, 20ish after...

Re: clutch installation grease ?

Re: Driving videos
Some '36 Zephyrs came with 4.33s, but the rest came with 4.44s. Since I have a banjo rear-end that's shared with a Ford, I decided to bring it down to a 4.11, which is much more streetable. ...
