Re: 34 pickup overall dimensions

Mine measures about 68" wide, 71" tall and 14'-8" long. I think you are in good shape.

Re: 1936 Pickup bed floor question

Re: 34 door help

I just finished the doors on my 34 pickup. I replaced the skin from just below the ribs down. The ribs held the shape well so I could butt weld the new piece in. No warp at all.

Re: Anti freeze

My mother (born 1918) told me that her father, who was an auto dealer in Hartford, CT in the 20's used to run water year round but would drain it in the evening in cold weather and replace it with...

why wire wheels?

I woke up this morning thinking about the wheels on my 34 Ford pickup. Why did they use wire wheels on the early vehicles, as opposed to the stamped steel wheels which followed. Was it just...

34 pickup spare tire holder

Does anyone have a picture of what the spare tire attachment looks like. I have the rod and the brace in place, but there has to be another piece that attaches the rod to the wheel. Some sort of...

Re: 34 pickup oil pressure guage

Thank you, Marko39. No plug in the pan, but I have it off, right now so I will add one. Then I'll find a filter.

Does the addition of a filter affect the oil pressure reading, since they both...

Re: 34 pickup, finally back together but....

Took down the oil pan and found the 4 plugs in the bottom of the engine casting along the oil pan mating surface. One was definitely leaking..took about 2 minutes to see a drip forming from the...

Re: 34 pickup oil pressure guage

Marko, your answer gives rise to another question, if I may. There is no oil filter on the engine. What does one use and how do you attach it, if I want to add one?

Thank you. Yes I did post it twice. When I saw it I tried to remove one but could not figure out how to do it.

Re: 34 pickup, finally back together but....

Wow!! You guys are great! It seems to me that the likely culprit is the soft plug. It fits the observations very well. Right at the bulge in the block. I'll drop the pan again and check it out. ...

34 pickup steering column mount

Is there a spacer that is supposed to be between the column and the dash? I have about a 2"gap. Guess I could loosen the steering box and see if the whole thing would rotate enough to fit.
Thanks....

Re: Disc brake question

I remember a similar problem, years ago, solved by bleeding the brakes. Seems a little air in the system heated up and expanded as the brakes were used and locked them up. Moved fine when they...
