Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums

'32-'34 and if you want to sell those measuring 12.000" that are not scarred, I'm your buyer, please.

Re: Shim ID. 32?

IMO they're not North American '32 parts

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums

The easiest dimension for establishing whether or not they are Model A drums or '32-'34 drums is the inside diameter of the swept area. If that diameter is not 12" or a slight fraction over 12"...

Re: 1933/34 dual gauge temp sender unit (hose part).

Graham,

As Kevin cites from the original instructions.

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums

Mart,

That makes sense (that it isn't eleven, but rather one).

Re: 32 amp gauge

Charlie,

All North American-sourced '32s, be they passenger cars, commercial vehicles, or big trucks were originally equipped with the same ammeter (+/- 20 amps) and it came with a chrome-plated...

Re: Need some help identifying these hubs/drums

The 11" or 12" measurement referred to above is the inside diameter of the drum where the brake shoes/linings fit, not the depth of the drum/hub assembly. Further, nothing after the '32-'34 version...

Re: The 1933-34 Ford Book

The short shrift given '33-'34 fours will be corrected.

Re: The 1933-34 Ford Book

A new one is in the works similar in depth and breadth to the '32 book (i.e. coverage of commercial vehicles, trucks, and Fords produced outside of the U.S. in addition to thorough U.S. passenger car...

Re: Q: 1934 Ford Pinstrping stencil body line

There are still pin stripe painters out there who do it as was done in 1934, freehand.

Re: Roll Down Rear Window Drip Pan

Best bet is that it is for a '32 standard (5-W) coupe as the '32 deluxe coupe (3-W) and all '33-'34 coupes' pans are over 30" wide consistent with their wider rear windows. The '32 standard coupe's...

Re: Roll Down Rear Window Drip Pan

A photo might help as there were two different pans used in the '32s and different, but similar, pans for '33-'34 coupes. Once installed, they are not readily accessible.

Re: 32 frame

How will you know that the frame is straight if you do it yourself? (Ionia was only a "such as" suggestion given that you did not share that you live on the 'left coast' as they say further east...

Re: 32 frame

No doubt your frame is bent out of shape and needs to be repaired on a proper '32 frame fixture such as the one the Ionia, MI hot rod shop has.

Re: Rare Deuce parts thread

Yes, I have several, but Ford did not offer them, rather they are an aftermarket offering first offered for Model As.

Much rarer and a legitimate Ford part is the '32 tail lamp housing without an...

Re: Rare Deuce parts thread

Regarding '32 hood sides' flexing, IMO in likely order of most to least: earliest 20-louver with all 20 louvers open, 20-louver with 19 louvers open, 25-louver with 23 louvers open, and 20-louvers on...

Re: 32 frame

There were no bulges in the sides of the frame rails at the rear axle kick up when they left the factory. As most '32 passenger cars had a rear-mounted spare wheel and tire, add that to overhanging...

Re: A couple of 32 questions.

Mart,

Originally the wood floorboards were coated with a black petroleum based preservative and lacked any gloss. I use an ebony stain.

The two 7/16-20 x 2 1/4" hex head bolts at the lower...

Re: Mart's Update 2021 Episode 19 Part 1&2: The 32 Sedan body goes on!

Mart,

I very much enjoyed your video regarding body-to-frame hardware, but the last body-to-frame attachment did not use a hard spacer originally, but rather a 1/4" thick rubber pad on each side. ...

Re: 1934 dual temperature gauge

Graham,

Is the gauge completely original or is it one that had previously been restored? I ask as there is some history of the restored gauges (depending on the source of restoration) losing...

Re: Do you think there will be another V-8 National meet?

Robert,

The roads are in pretty good shape these days and Auburn does not have a hotel big enough with the required on-site facilities for the size of the GNM. The latter rules out Auburn...

Re: 1933/34 radiator mounting pads.

Graham,

I finally got around to tracking down the NOS pads that I have. They measure 1 3/16" x 2" x 5/32" with the hole centered. There were heavily reinforced with fabric suggesting that they...
