Re: slow cranking when hot

40ford, this is actually an old thread but if you look at post #23 you'll see that I resolved the issue.

Re: spark at the plugs

Thank you Flathead Fever, I appreciate your input. I'm just waiting to get the distributor I ordered and am anxious to see how the car runs once I install it.

Re: spark at the plugs

I've ordered a rebuilt distributor from Third gen auto. Not sure if it will fix the problem but will soon find out. Tired of messing around with old distributors and 'hoping for the best'. Now I can...

Re: spark at the plugs

On the right side the 2 middle cylinders are not firing, on the left side it's the first and last that are not firing. I think the plug wires are good because there is a strong spark when I short out...

Re: spark at the plugs

I've posted an update on the early V8 forum just to keep things simple and not to have 2 threads going at the same time. I appreciate your help.

Re: spark at the plugs

Update;
Finally warm enough here to get the car out and put a few miles on it. Still having the same issue as described above. I sprayed a can of carb cleaner into the carb at fast idle and that...

Re: spark at the plugs

Thanks for the advise. As soon as things warm up a bit here, (-3 F. in my unheated garage), I will try some carb cleaner.

Re: spark at the plugs

Some of you guys are a riot! Just imagine how much gas I'd save! LOL! Kidding aside, it sounds like a plugged idle passage as was suggested. On one bank it's the middle two cylinders and the other...

Thanks.

Re: spark at the plugs

I don't think it's a fuel issue because there's 2 on each side not firing correctly.
Thanks guys.

Re: 34 3 Window help

Elwood, that's a beautiful car you have! The fuel gauge has a small air line coming from the gas tank sending unit. Check to see if it is there and, if it is, see that it's not crimped, blocked, or...

Re: 34 wiper motor

Re: Thank you to Bubba

Yes, I don't know how to post the link here but if you do a search of shooter_bighorn you'll find his post called 'distributor question'. Bubba posted on that with the link.

Thank you to Bubba

I'd like to express my appreciation to Bubba, (and Terry as well), for posting the video of the helmut distributor tear-down and reassembly. It was certainly well done and very informative!
