Well, i've driven only 1 auto trans flathead and i much prefere the Borg Warner overdrive..
Rear end gearing must be considered in any application. Just my 2 cents. mike

Power valve on the carb. or fuel pump diaphram are both possibilities. Check & smell your oil for gas. Power valve would make it run rich 4 sure.

Hope the marks on crank & cam gear are right. I had a Melling cam gear that was marked wrong. Keep at it; you will git er go'n.

Thanks again guys, but i pulled my fan 2day & checked very carefully for cracks. Not a trace. I re-installed the stock fan & will check it from time to time.

Having read everything here; i tend to believe that most flooding and rich mix problems is still our crap gasoline. Got a new Carpenter 94 a few years back to solve the hot engine flooding problem....

A W E S O M E truck. My cousin's gramps had one like it on a farm in Lindsey Ohio in the mid 50s & as a 10 yr. old i loved it .
