Re: Marsden nuts

This guy here is a wealth of knowledge. If there was a PhD offered in 32-53 Fords, he'd have one.

Re: need my transmission rebuilt

Mac's book is a like another tool in your tool box. Get it, read it, absorb it. You can do it!

I'm the type of guy Mac mentioned that likes a challenge and enjoys completing the work himself.

It's an easy procedure. You could do it yourself if you can't find someone near you.

Re: Saving The 1939 Mercury Coupe From The Rust Lagoon

I've followed your videos. I'm currently undergoing a restoration of a 1940 standard Tudor. My frame is toast but my floor pan isn't as bad as the '39 Sedan project you are working on now. I will...

Re: Shipman, Illinois auction/ Sept. 21

It's near me, only an hour away. I thought about going. It's all from one estate. I usually do not attend auctions, even if there is V8 Ford stuff. Too much emotion gets involved and the prices...

Re: 2020 eastern nationals

I'm a midwest guy. Actually, I'm ashamed to call Illinois my home state. However, I'll be attending the 2020 eastern meet. I haven't signed up yet but will do that very soon.

Re: "40 gear selection

I agree. John's real life experience is accurate and I run the same 15/29 tooth gears with 3.54 rear gears and have experienced excellent results. The amount of touring miles John has accumulated in...

Re: New Member New car

No. There aren't any restriction on how many photos you can post. Maybe if you try to resize them.

The flathead engine will be the most crucial component and likely require the most attention of...

Re: Fuel pump rod - what is the purpose of umbrella?

I don't buy from Speedway because the Chinese folks they source their parts from are not in the least interested in authenticity, when needed, or fitment otherwise.

In the future look for genuine...

Re: Air shocks ?

I agree. The air shock is a band-aide. A nice original or NOS spring should be easily found. Put an ad here on the fordbarn for starters.

You're located in a fantastic area for flathead component service. You have a great neighbor in Skip Haney.

Re: Crab rebuilder Punta Gorda
