Have used for the last 2 seasons in Iowa. Also got the larger anti-sway bar.
I'm going to say incrementally better, without getting totally modern.

Not certain what does fit, but the transmission is built by borg warner and is common to other brands. A Chev uses a different u-joint, but adapter u-joints are available. Ford standard...

double inlet muffler?

On my 49 coupe, would like single rear exhaust, but not run crossover pipe into right side manifold. Thinking about double inlet, single outlet muffler. Any comments?

Silly me, I took my Dremel and made a new slot in sockets and got new fiber disk and double contact/wire sets at NAPA. Worked OK now for 5 years.

Dad said the WWII fighters he armed had an extra 200 HP for take off over the standard 1000 HP with the water injection. Had a kit on his 40 Pontiac to better use AV gas.

There is an oil return groove at the bottom, outside the bush, in the tail housing.
Pull the seal, warm up the housing-not glowing or real hot, hook at the bottom so you don't score the bore for...

1951 passenger shift link rods

I'm putting a '51 overdrive in a '49 coupe and am told link rods to transmission are different lengths. Could also use bracket to hold overdrive cable at transmission end.

Another mechanic I used to work with claimed, if something had oil in it, it would leak - the only question was - how fast? There are weepers, seepers, drippers, and gushers.
