Mercman posted what I saw on the auction car, no words just the Mercury Head. Might of been a '41, was a 4 door that sold for $150 in very rough shape. Thanks for the pic.

Re: 39 Mercury grille guard??

Saw what I think was a official Mercury grill guard on a 1940 sedan at an auction a few years ago. It looked the same as a Ford one from that era but had in the top center the Mercury logo not...

Re: Trying to save a "raised deck" v-8 !!!!!!!

Here's some pics. Looks worse because of the atf/acetone combination I applied liberally before I realized how much water there was. Not a Mercury block and will measure it tomorrow to check if...

Trying to save a "raised deck" v-8 !!!!!!! UPDATED!!

Sorry for screaming it out but I just got a "raised" deck flathead this afternoon. It was on C-List for the last few weeks and I talked to the auto recycle yard owner 2 weeks ago when he told me...

Re: A Dennis Carpenter Complaint??

Just trying to warn others that what they have posted on their website is not what you get. Getting the word out if you will.

Re: Power steering pump on a flathead

Think you should sent a PM to Charles as this thread is 7 plus years old. Feels good to know that Fordbarn is still around though.

Re: Saving The 1939 Mercury Coupe From The Rust Lagoon

Funniest thing was the spare tire full of swamp water, thought it would never drain. The dash gauges and the column covers are in my mind like art.

Re: 1939 Ford Transmission Case and Tower

Just to clarify about the tower. This was an extra that I have with very good forks unlike the one that was on this transmission when I bought it which are in very poor condition. Thanks

Re: Saving The 1939 Mercury Coupe From The Rust Lagoon

Watched this a few days ago, a lot of effort for what they got. Seems like it will be a parts car as it is way too far gone.

Re: Body Number Tag- '38 Convertible

That's why I asked, don't want to muck it up if better left alone. It looks in really nice shape so if I do remove the paint it will be masked off and q-tips utilized. Thanks again.
