Re: 32 Transmission Refresh

What would it cost to put a full set of the L-Z Gears in? I didn't see it as a set in the Van Pelt Catalog.

Re: 32 Transmission Refresh

Only issue I found were these teeth on the cluster Gear. Not terrible, but probably should replace? All on the same gear.

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

just to be clear, I think the UP is good quality and would work fine. I just prefer to keep as much of the original wood as I can. Less drilling for screws bolts etc.

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

OK looks like the repair is not adequate. When I put the wood back on the top, one of them is definately warped out of alignment. I got the UP wood kit and decided to replace all the wood. After...

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

thought I would share me tool. Basic tack puller with one side cut off. You can see where tacks on top of tacks would keep the tack strip from fitting well.

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

For those interested, this is what the next level down looks like. A ton of tacks in this thing. I am also noting the splits in the wood at every tack of the underlining.

DO NOT start by...

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

Yeah, there was no way this was all original. It stuck up too high. Is the insert pattern close to what I am looking for?

Well it has been scarey to do, but I got it off with out any breaks or kinks. Not straight, but I can fix that.

Re: 1932 Coupe Roof insert

Based on how hard the tacks come out, I would say my outer wood is solid. The spans and domelight wood..... not so much. Should I glue and screw the center span? I hate to replace original wood.

1932 Coupe Roof insert

Well, my insert got bad enough for me to replace it. I have been slowly removing it. From looking at the 32 book I believe I have nice original tack strips (David?). They are definately steel. A...

Re: Model B bell housing numbers

Just to add.... you do see B motors with numbers stamped on them. David can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe those were usually replacement motors. I have a B block with an AA number stamped...
