You should be fine but try and use the same manufacture for the top coat of paint . Read the labels on the can for the correct time between coats.

I have seen small gas bubbles in engines with no head gasket problems. This is caused by local hot spots which boil some of the coolant releasing oxygen molecules.

After losing a fan 35 years ago I went with the aluminum fan which came powder coated black and balanced. I would never run a original fan again.

I think I would forget the pencil filter and build what's called a dirty leg. Do a search on this site to see how it is made and run with it until the flanking stops.

I agree with what Duke36 has suggested and have fixed many this way. I don't use pliers to make the slight twist I use an 8 inch Cresent wrench.

Pull the head and the side valve chamber plate and take a look. Not that hard of a job and then your going to know for sure.

I have always used stodard solvent in my HF parts washer going on 18 years with no problem with the pump. I do try and clean the filter once in a while.

The 68B that I restored to a high point Blue Ribbon did not have a body tag or any holes in the flat firewall to attach one. I still have the original patent plate with the engine number stamped on...

I have a 1959 Triumph Tr3 along with the factory service manual. The manual states that the rear leaf spring should be painted with the used drain oil to provide rust protection.
