frank miller has the answer, you need a 3/4" rod, steel or wood, that will slide easily thru the holes in the case, exactly the length of the cluster gear, so it clears the thrust bearings to allow...

8 ply truck tires can look really bad and not blow up when running empty (no load ), and at moderate speeds. worst thing is they are usually not round, not soft, not balanced. but go bouncing down...

looks like an f100 to me. they came with some different pitman arm options, not sure of your use, but for model A's some folks machine the end square to fit the a pitman arm
