Re: Model A News, Jan-Feb 2019, Fuse Block

I have never blown my fuse. However, I have always heard that if it blows, in just a matter of a couple of minutes the car will quit running. I hear it fries the points. Any one heard of this?

Re: Need A LOT of help with Model A inheritance

You have a good point 40Deluxe. Something similar happened to me on a used car a few years ago.

Re: Storing restored model A without a garage or carport

Buy a car cover the first week. Make sure they have it in-stock. If need be, throw it away in 4 months. It's cheaper. Your insurance company may one day require it to be stored in a locked...

Re: 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 heater core

Walk in to your local NAPA store. They typically can get you one in a day or two.

Re: Need A LOT of help with Model A inheritance

Find your local chapter. https://model-a-ford.org/top-page-1/regions/ get in touch with them. Remember, you need more than 1 opinion. Model-Aers can be a very friendly resource. Just make...

Re: Storing restored model A without a garage or carport

May I ask what is your long-term plan? Sorting to me means just wrapping up, and fixing a few odds and ends, not major surgery. Since you live in Texas, I'd think the Sun is more of a long-term...

Re: Big Valves and porting?

My car has the bigger valves, and the Stipe IB-330 higher lift cam. When you stop, and turn right onto a ramp and step on it you can feel the acceleration. Especially when going up a grade.

It's...

Re: Big Valves and porting?

It depends. For one thing, if you even think you want them, at time of rebuild is the time. It's not that much more money.

Once you drive an A with improved brakes, and a thought out pattern of...

Re: Need A LOT of help with Model A inheritance

I have seen people start with way worse.

Get ahold of some of the guys ibn your Dad's local Model-A Club Chapter. Ask them to come over, and tell them you just want to get it painted and running...

Re: Extinct Model A

I agree, those Town Cars are very scarce. Another one that is hard to come by is the Fridgadare pickups. But there were more of them.

Re: What has gone wrong on the road?

I had a drive shaft snap. Another time I had a crankshaft snap. Hopefully my bad luck is all used up, and I'm on to good luck. I have owned my car since 1994.
