Well I checked for a vacuum leak and there wasn’t one. I will have to get it up on a rack in the next week to check the bendix and flywheel

I checked the fan and it’s fine. The fan hub bolts are solid tight as well

So I ran the motor minus the belt, the gen and new water pumps weren’t in play. On higher RPMs the noise was there lasted for 10 seconds then went away. Gassed it again noise came back for seconds...

Napa part number for 41 fan belt

Can anyone tell me what the Napa part number is for a fan belt for a 41 ford coupe? Stock pulleys,6 V 42 generator. I have one from C&G it’s V shaped with ridges.

I am in medicine so I grabbed my stethoscope and listened to the generator while the noise was happening and it wasn’t present there. It was normal.

Thanks David . I have had this gen rebuilt twice and the movement in the pulley keeps coming back. I have followed the 41 ford Manual for correct belt tension and it still works loose. I will pull it...

Thanks for the responses much appreciated. I got one from Fred barnfind08 . It’s NOS it came in the box with the original paper , bolts and ground cable . Really nice piece. Question for you guy mine...

Yeah that’s true I have seen some great ones on eBay but the bolt configuration on mine is spread out and most of those don’t use that bolt pattern.
