Re: t10 speedo driven gear

The later style gear will NOT fit the early cable. Since it's T-10 which came out later than 1957, it uses the later type gear. You must get a cable that matches the speedo and the trans. The...

Re: Couple of 56 SD window questions, one dumb

Looking at a diagram of a Tbird window, it looks like the window shown is the left (drivers) side. And if I remember correctly, the slot the the rollers go into point inward. Also, the short slot...

Re: 56 Fairlane Power Steering

Unless you have a new or rebuilt pump, I have heard that Power Steering Fluid should not be used with the early Ford pump. The reason I heard that the PSF tends to leak on older pumps because it is...

Re: Disaster?

If remember my 289/302 engines, you don't have the problem noted, just the Yblock. So it's a no brainer to assume it's a Y

Re: where to puchase quality clutch parts

I had Centerforce's Dual friction clutch in two cars, the oldest is now 15 or so years with zero problems

Re: Tail light help

Run a temporary ground from the taillight housing (where there is no paint) to the frame or other part where there is no paint. Ten to 1 it's a ground problem.

Re: Throttle linkage?

That's the way they are supposed to work, but this type usually uses a cable, not a rod. A rod is not as flexible as a cable which may result in it hanging up as the engine moves. There are...

Re: 55/56 Ford station wagon Belt line molding replacement

No - poor choice of a word - I thought you were talking about the side molding, not the belt. Answered as if the side molding when I realized that I was wrong and just erased my answer using that...

Re: Disaster?

Most likely they dropped in the lifter galley (doubtful they could get into the pan) If it was one piece, most people just let it lay because chances of it causing damage is almost nil. However,...

Re: Throttle linkage?

To use your stock pedal your best bet is to get the stock linkage from the same year truck. Even one from a sedan may work with a few modifications.

To make a cable system work smoothly, the...

Re: Headlight Aiming

I would guess it's how the reflector is aimed - probably more to the shoulder and not to the center of the road

Re: 64 Galaxie w/manual steering hard to turn

As was mentioned above, I think a lot of the problem is the tire/wheel combination on the car. Without power steering, the wide tire must be a bear to turn. Must have zero flex in the tire which...

Re: Crown Victoria National Convention 2019

Judging is on Thursday, so that is probably the best day to see all the cars. On Friday the concours cars most likely will be back in their trailers. The show closes on Friday. Nothing going on...

Re: New to the Y Block

There really isn't a big market for a 56 Bird distributor (for the 57, it's a different story). I converted my 56 Bird to a 57 distributor and for the longest time couldn't find a buyer for the 56...

Re: Seat belt length ?

Get the longest ones you can. So you MAY have a little extra, better than buying something that is too short for a rotund passenger
