I did the upside down thing on an A manifold 30 years ago and worked fine but with continued use it's memory took it back to the original group. The new ones are more than worth the money.

The plugs are a great idea. I have closed another hole that allows moisture into the distributer, the slot for the top plate arm the spark advance rod goes to, it's huge and allows moisture directly...

In a tight spot I made a gasket punch out of a piece of electrical conduit.If you need a smaller punch, I made a lengthwise cut in the tube and squeezed it down to the size I needed and welded it.

A little closer look will reveal that at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions are small tabs at the front edge of the bucket that hold the reflector in, The reflector should just slide off the bulb socket...

In 1964 I put a Sears rebuilt engine in my '30 fordor. A short time later I had to redo the valves as they had not set them right. It came out of the Los Angeles store.
