Re: Metal Stem Tire Valve question

Just to clarify, I believe Mr. Karr in post 6 is referring to vulcanized metal stems already installed in vendors' tubes, not vulcanized rubber stems with dust covers ?

Re: 8 leaf to 7 leaf rear spring conversion

Putting aside the thicknesses, why not use the shortest #10 leaf as the dummy and bevel the top edges of the #8 leaf to become the top of the 7 leaf spring ? Or use the #8 longer leaf as the dummy...

Re: Thermostat

Re: What is the purpose of the baffle around the oil pump?

Some lowered trays may have holes in the tray flat areas for drainage but not sure for which applications or why they were added. The Ford Service bulletins don't show the holes.

Re: "Modern" Shocks from Snyders

Check out Pete and Jakes "plain hydraulics"; they may be similar to the A vendors offerings and have similar rebound rates. The 60's VW Empi shocks with eyelets fit the Snyders kit (with mod's to...

Re: "Modern" Shocks from Snyders

Re: Dang, Grease on the Headliner

This is difficult to address today because most dry cleaning fluids have been banned.
Don't use Folex or any water based cleaner which can bleed out (leave rings) if on natural fabrics. If...

Re: Gaskets 101, advice?

Re: MMO in the Gas

Some use ZDDP zinc additive for flat tappet motors since zinc is banned from fuels due to catalytic convertor issues with zinc. If there is test data for all these additives, it would be good to see...

Re: Fuel tank strainer,screen?

There are screw in and drop in types. Ford initially used the screw in type, then drop in with tabs, and then in '31 went back to the screw in type. One can adapt the drop in type for the later style...

On going issue, and with some repro nuts, the throats may not be deep enough or the threads cut properly.

Re: Gaskets 101, advice?

This is an older post, but I think Mr. Bidonde is referring to the tailpipe end which is allowed to slide thru the frame clamp. (Not a reference to the manifold to muffler up pipe that is clamped...
