Re: Iola old car show
Well, they must have torn it down. I haven't been there in years, but it wasn't merely "large", it was gigantic, and was a pole barn. To my recollection, it was down by the roadway at the lower...

Re: Iola old car show
Strange to me that all you midwesterners would rather talk about pancakes than the pole barn. To me, those barns are national treasures. Don’t even get me started on cupolas!

Re: '39 trans to '37 V8?
Can do! The case is the same. Assuming you haven’t got the ‘39 yet, you can gut your own case and replace the innards with the ‘39-‘48 gears, and put on a ‘39 shift tower. Get hold of Mac Van Pelt...

Re: 37 Replacement seats
Anyone suggesting foam to replace the original springs hasn't the good fortune to have experienced the comfort of these seats on cross country trips.

Off subject, I love the pole barn at Iola! We don’t see that stuff out west at all.

Re: Correct replacement for Fram C181-A?
C4P is correct. There are two different size cover gaskets included in the box. I don't know what the odd gasket fits. Make sure you use a small gasket under the nut on top or you'll have a big mess...

Re: Canadian 1946-1948 Mercury 114
Having experienced the South Pacific in my Navy days, I think the isolation itself is worth the additional cost of living, but then again, my island was a postage stamp compared to yours, and I hear...

Re: Hazard lights
Lawson, at your age, you ARE the hazard! :D
Seriously, hazard lights would be all four corners, while signal lights would be one side or the tother. You're pulling twice the amps with the...

Re: Best paint for painting over rust
Paint directly over rust is not going to stop the progressive damage of rust, but will hide it from view like an ostrich hides his head in the sand. If the rust is not removed completely, you must...

Re: Misery loves company
A devilish trick to pull on one of your highly organized buddies:
During his reassembly of an engine, slip an extra bolt into his parts tray.

Re: Misery loves company
I once put down shag carpet on the floor of my garage for comfort while under the car. When I got rid of it, I found all the screws, nuts, washers, springs, C clips, and ball bearings that had been...

Re: Mystery holes in Holley 94’s
While the location of the vent was changed twice as it was thought to be affected by air circulation, the timing of those changes was not related to the location of the fan mount.

Re: Mystery holes in Holley 94’s
Those holes are the correct locations of the factory vent holes, but they do look to have been goobered up by some misinformed soul for who knows what reason. They don't look nice, but shouldn't...

Re: Mystery holes in Holley 94’s
If I am understanding your description correctly, the hole(s) you refer to was the second of three versions of float bowl vents. The original location of the vent was an oval vertical slot at the...

Re: 1936 horn button light switch
The circuit is completed when the horn button is depressed, which grounds to the steering shaft. The horn rod is simply a conduit, not part of the circuit.
