Does anyone know of a resource to find an aftermarket AM/FM radio that will fit in a 1949 Ford pickup truck? It must be 12 volts and install in the dash like the original. Thanks!

Yep, you guys are right about not needing the actual voltage regulator. It's just for looks. Changed out the alternator for the original generator and all works perfectly. Haven't seen the Ammeter...

Finally got a hold of Tom Whitney by phone. He suggested the regulators inside may be bad. So, while the generator is on, I'll have the alternator checked out.

Okay........ Thanks for all the input fellas!

I've checked the wiring as alan mentioned everything seems fine there.
Forgot to mention that the Voltage Regulator is new.

JACK ~ I checked both fan belts for proper tension and all seems fine.

I tend to think OLD HENRY is right. It's probably a short or grounding problem which I've had and can't seem to chase...
