Used to pull it out just so much, then climb in the back and pitch hay off for the cows. Just have to jump out and get to the cab before you reach the end of the pasture. Now I just use it to rev the...

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

No emergency, just curiosity really. Seems like more 38 parts available. It looks in the pic like the windshield side may be the same but the dash side looks questionable.

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Would a 38 windowshield crank bolt in and then just use the dash cover to match (for a 38) or do they attach differently? Thanks- Greg

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Wow 39portlander- Very tidy restoration going on in those photos. Are you an "Oregonian" Portlander or a "Maine" Portlander? I'm hoping OR so I can see that truck at a NW show one day..

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Hi 39pickup welcome, good luck with the resistor.

Gordon- Awesome pic, I can see that the one on the left is what I'll be looking for. Do we know if it's truck only- I've seen windshields listed...

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Great guys - thanks a bunch.
At the bottom of the windshield opening I see a couple screw holes. My guess is that this is where the window regulator attaches and pushes the bottom of the window...

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Thanks Gordon - I'll go look at what I have- I think I'm missing the triangular piece in your pic. I have the "strap" pieces for sure.
I wish I had done the disassembly, but, oh well.

Also- is...

Re: 39 pickup social group questions

Thanks Gordon and Mike- I'm trying to fit the hood but I think I'm missing part of the hinge. There are some pieces but I don't see how they could be enough. Is there a good pic somewhere of them?...

39 pickup social group questions

I've tried searching and I've seen the comment to go to the social group for 38/39s.. I joined the 3 that I saw but it looks like very little activity in any of them. Did I miss the good group where...

Re: '39 pickup questions

The 1200 dollar unit must've been a real special one! I've seen 2 decent ones listed on craigslist in my state in the couple years I've been casually looking for one of these trucks. Asking was 150...

Re: '39 pickup questions

Here's a couple pictures of the box I've been offered. I didn't have a tape measure with me so I'm not sure of the width. Looks like the bottoms of the fenders have been bobbed for clearance..

Re: The Best Period Parking Lot Photo- Grant Park in Chicago Circa 1929

That's exactly what I thought when I looked at it. I'm not that good at IDing cars from the 20s but when I saw they were mostly big (BIG) sedans I figured - now this is some sort of executive parking...
