'38 Trunk / Deck Lid Handle Repair

Have any of you peeled the stainless steel skin off the steel base to fix dents and deep scratches? How difficult is it to do? Are there any tricks?

Also, on most of the ones you see the blue...

It was a little tricky for me to get everything smooth because the PC7 was a lot harder than the old wheel material. It turned out good though.

No oil pan baffle

I dropped the oil pan from my late '38 engine and found that the oil pan baffle has been cut out. How necessary is the baffle? Is it time to look for a new pan?

I'm restoring the '38 I bought 36 years ago. It sat for many years but now that the kids are grown I have time to work on it. The chassis it just about done.
