Re: Champion 3x electrode

How does one rebuild the 3X plugs? I have a set that were acting up so I want to clean and rebuild them. Where does one get new seals for them?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: quick questions

K, I found a NOS base set up for the shocks. So I will see if I can get the local shop to press them in. I will also try Dobie's suggestion as well.

Re: quick questions

Thanks K,

Yep both lower arms are 57 as they look identical but will verify the spacing as the right is original to the car. As to the lower shock base, I chucked the originals foolishly thinking...

Re: quick questions

Hi K,

Yes that is part that is too narrow. That is the shock number I got from the 57 Ford forum and from KYB/Rock Auto. Is there is different shock number I should look for?

Re: quick questions

Dave, I agree but the shocks I got from KYB model 4515 are to narrow for the bolt holes. I can get one bolt in but not the other. Thanks for clarifying the other questions.

Hi All,

Two quick questions:

1) on the front shocks do I have to elongate the holes or use a dremel and open them up completely and then use a large washer for support?

2) I think it...

Re: What happened ???

If it was an instant shut down then that is electrical, if it was a sputter then fuel. Since you started her up again I am going with fuel. Did you check fuel flow?

Re: adding front springs finally-check me

I compressed the original coils to about 13-14” to remove them. So I am guessing that is what I will have to compress them to get them in. Raise the lower arm with a jack and position the coil in the...

Re: adding front springs finally-check me

Thanks for the tips. I called Eaton springs as that is who I am using and they don’t do the flat top springs anymore. They are regular round coils and they just make it so they can go in either way....

Re: New gas tank

Got some new pads and strap 'covers' from the local T-bird store. Is it worth stripping the oil/grease/cosmolene off of the tank and clear coating it to protect it from rust?
