that's what I suspect they are.
must be fairly uncommon.
I have looked at many brake drums over the years and never saw any before.

Question unusual brake drum accessory?

Preparing a pair of front drums for sale and discovered they have an unusual stamped steel collar around the inside of the hub, like some sort of slinger or baffle.

Never seen any like this before...

extremely subjective from car to car. some anecdotal examples:

our Town Sedan had a counterbalanced crank and was smooth as silk even at 60MPH.

our low mileage unrestored Coupe NEVER ran...

31 right Front Fender

Good restorable condition.
Poor repair attempt on the bead and sheet metal about halfway down + an extra hole near the headlight bar holes.
Easy fix for those who know how, like Rock Hill Will or...
