Hey Guys ! I am in the process of "de - sludging" a truck oil pan . I do not know the year . It does not have the big removable cleanout plate like some , but does have a baffle , like some others ....

The sbc is a terrific engine , but it has its places . Those are in GM products .
The best way to ruin a Ford is to put a Chevy engine in it . Works every time ! LOL

The slide hammer type axle puller shown above will get-r-done ! You can rent one from most auto parts stores .

Jwawhite - I would think that probably an engine machine shop ( that balances flywheels , etc ) would be your best bet .

tubman makes a good point . I was thinking the same thing because I did something similar yrs. ago , and the engine ran a little on the rich side .
It was as if I had the choke partially closed ,...
