Ok this is my problem I am at top of lift and slightly tilted out but I still have about half the gear to go. I can get more aggressive but I do Not want to hurt block. Any ideas. Thanks Joe B

I tried that but when I get to the top opening and tilt my gear is only about half out of the lower hole. I will try again.

Tom I am trying to get the whole assy out together ? I am going up into the distributor hole and then trying to clear the bottom tang out of the crankcase. Does the assy come apart first ?

Okay I have the side cover pulled that was easy. I removed the spring from the cam gear assy but it will not come out completely. The tang at bottom for the oil pump is hanging do I take assy apart ?

I am replacing my distributor so I pulled it and lower shaft. Lower shaft is very dry and corroded. Does it not get oil from oil pump ?

Then that means theoretically hi octane might be actually harder to start. Probably in almost unnoticeable amount.
