The 1/8" end play can be solved by installing a brass washer 5/8x1x1/8" thick after the packing nut, then a 5/8" shaft collar, and a small amount of grease between the parts.

Go to ford garage.com, click on camshaft, measure heal to nose, subtract base circle, that's the lift, if its an A or B cam, it can be reground.

When I restored my big 29 AA, I lengthened the cab 6", made my own mail pouches about 2" wide x about 12" long, went to WM and bought an am fm cd radio, it fit in the mail pouch.
