Re: Selling model a

Check him out with members down under. I had a very suspicious, to me, call and finally sold a car to the gentleman that had called. Some are real, some are not, just like here. Talk to the suspect...

Thanks

Re: Engine not starting.

Check spark with key on, break the points while holding coil wire near a head bolt. should have a blue to white spark jump each time points are opened. If yellow or orange, may not jump the plug gap....

Re: New Hub Cap Installation

If I understand the hub cap correctly, the tabs should all go into the center opening of the wheel, then the wheel should be reversed and you bend perhaps four tabs to fasten the cap the wheel. I...

Re: Tighten the 21" rims straight

Talked to an engineer friend about shrinking spokes to straighten wheels. He's not much of a fan of putting uneven heat on wheels. He assured me that it will work, but feels it is not the best...

Re: Borg-Warner OD Wiring

I always wire the power to the solenoid so that with the shift lever is in the reverse position there can be no power to the solenoid on B/W and Laycock (Volvo) overdrives. I have had no problems of...

Re: Borg Warner OD Question

Sorry, no. I told the nice lady at the parts counter what I wanted and she handed it to me. Went home and installed it, tested as I thought it would, so I put it all together. I have done this on...

Re: Pitman Arm Question

I have a 29 and a 31 Model A. Both have the shorter pitman arm, from Brattons. On both cars the spindles hit the stops when turned to the full extreme. I haven't noticed any diminished turning...

Re: U-haul open trailer

OPEN TRAILER, probably better to cover the top material with the handy wrap that the tow companies use to keep wrecks together in transit. A lady called us to help her with an A she had purchased in...

Re: Two days on the brakes

At the base of Mt Diablo in Danville saw your same light show and heavy downpours. Very impressive. Love your pictures and the shop. I have a friend on here that may lead a group this way if we ever...

Re: model a does not start

Re: Not to say it wont happen again tomorrow

The guts in my distributors use the modern Mustang, 1957, I think Points and condensers. This coupe is running 12 V Neg grd due to having air to keep the bride lucid when we're out on 90 + days....

4 inch drop axle, front for 31 A

Seems to me that several folks have replaced the front axle with a 4 inch dropped axle and taken a leaf out of the rear spring to make their coupes look like the period hot rods had. Where do you...

Re: Another Upholstery Question

Rotowrench, that sounds doable. So if I order the 30/31 cover and add about 5/8 of an inch of extra batting over the seat area it should work. I'm thinking of cutting a piece of new carpet the size...
