Looks like some kind of thrust surface someone added on that main journal. It doesn't look right, there might be a similar set up on the rear main also, oil loss. If I saw that I'd pull the engine....

I drove my Tudor for years w/o shocks. I bought a set of friction shocks off the swap meet, and I must say its like night and day for the better.

First make sure its FLAT, then all of the above. Sometimes they are not and you should get it checked/broached. Good luck

Excelsior 21 inch tires (4)

Four Excelsior 4.50/4.75 X 21 inch tires. Tires have between 4/32 and 6/32 on tread. Don't know when but made in India. Sorry no shipping

The canister probably increases the amount of oil needed to bring the mark to full, but if its draining past the rear cap run it half way between full and add. I don't know if the filter you have...

You can jack the frame up to put wood between the spring eye and the axel, lower it alittle to take the pressure off the shackle to remove it w/o using a spreader. I re arched my spring at home a few...

+1 on Mr Crabtree and his lock and key service . He has serviced both my locking door handle and popout ignition switch. Highly recommended.
